Trick-or-Treat, for Eyeglasses?
Sight Night is an annual eyeglasses collection project organized around Halloween or trick-or-treat in your community.
What is Sight Night? Sight Night is a national event sponsored by LensCrafters and Lions Clubs International. Volunteers from Lions, LensCrafters and other organizations across North America will canvass their neighborhoods and collect used eyeglasses during trick-or-treat. This is a great opportunity to partner with a Leo club, a local LensCrafters store, Scouts or other community youth organizations.
What kinds of eyeglasses are needed? All colors, shapes and sizes of children's and adult's prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses are needed, as well as nonprescription sunglasses. Eyeglass cases are not collected; you may want to find another group that accepts the cases.
What is done with the collected eyeglasses? Collected eyeglasses are cleaned, repaired and hand-delivered during optical missions to developing countries. These missions are sponsored by Lions, LensCrafters and in Canada only, Operation EyeSight Universal.
How can my club participate in Sight Night? Here is how:
What if I want to help but am not available to volunteer? Look for Lions Club collection boxes in your town or take your eyeglasses to any LenCrafters store.
Where are Bartlett's Eyeglass Collection Boxes located? Bartlett Park District Community Center, Bartlett Library, Village Hall, Harris Bank, Sears Optical, United Church of Christ and more.
Sight Night is part of Give the Gift of Sight, a series of charitable vision care programs sponsored by LensCrafters Inc. and LensCrafters Foundation in conjunction with Lions Clubs International and other local charities.
